The video depicts the EZDebride Wound Instrument being utilized on a superficial skin abscess secondary to a foreign body granuloma (centrally). Rather than an incisional debridement using a scapple, the wound was easily debrided sharply with the EZDebride instrument with minimal discomfort and thus no local blocks were necessary. Topical lidocaine ointment was applied only. The EZDebride instrument was used to debride the entire wound and therefore exposing a central core (granuloma) which was then easily removed). Hemostasis was easily achieved as well requiring the use of a 4×4 gauze and minimal pressure. The patient has minimal pain during he debridement as well as afterwards.
